    Following Jesus's Example

Explore the upside-down kingdom where the greatest become servants. Discover Jesus's example of humble service.

"Jesus said: "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.""
    — Grace

"The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28). Jesus turned worldly notions of greatness upside down. In His kingdom, the path up is down.

When the disciples argued about who was greatest, Jesus took a towel and washed their feet - the task of the lowest servant. Then He said, "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."

Humility isn't thinking less of yourself; it's thinking of yourself less. It's the posture that makes room for God to work. Pride says "I can handle this." Humility says "I need God and others." Jesus, though equal with God, humbled Himself. We are called to do the same.
