Finding Rest in Christ
Jesus promised peace that the world cannot give. Explore how He approached anxiety, rest, and trust in God.
"Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.""
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27). Jesus offers a peace that transcends circumstances.
When Jesus told His followers not to worry about tomorrow, He wasn't being naive about life's challenges. He was pointing to a deeper truth: the God who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows knows what we need and can be trusted.
This doesn't mean we never feel anxious - Jesus Himself was troubled in the garden. But it means we have a place to bring our anxiety. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." Peace comes not from the absence of problems but from the presence of God.
