Connecting with God
Explore how Jesus prayed and taught His disciples to pray. Discover His approach to faith and connection with the Father.
"Jesus taught: "When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.""
Jesus's prayer life was the engine of His ministry. He regularly withdrew to pray, sometimes all night. Before major decisions, in times of distress, and in moments of joy - Jesus prayed.
When disciples asked Him to teach them to pray, He gave us the Lord's Prayer - not as a magic formula but as a pattern. It begins with worship and submission ("hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come"), moves to dependence ("give us our daily bread"), then to relationship ("forgive us as we forgive"), and ends with protection ("deliver us from evil").
Faith, Jesus taught, is not about quantity but quality. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. It's not about how much you believe but in Whom you believe. Faith grows as we step out in trust and see God's faithfulness.
